The state of Gujarat is located in western India. It is bordered by the Arabian Sea to the west, Pakistan to the northwest and Ragasthan to the north, Madhya Pradesh to the east, and by Maharasthtra to the south.
The capital is Gandhinagari and the main port is Kandla. The state is heavily industrialized with the main industries being oil, gas, textiles, coal, limestone and pharmaceuticals.
The climate is mainly dry.
